The San Fernando Valley Buddhist Center opened on the weekend of April 11-12, 2015 over 1200 members and guests attended the Opening Ceremonies with 300 members supporting behind the scenes.

The Center has a Main Auditorium and 4 Prayer rooms and which are used for activities and chanting, a beautiful bookstore and a comfortable lobby with WiFi. We are located in the NoHo Art District, near the El Portal Theater.

It mystical how our building came into our possession.

We weren’t looking to sell our previous building in Panorama, but someone approached us with an offer we couldn’t refuse.
At the time, a replacement center was not in process. Historically it takes years to find a new location which fulfills the stringent codes for assembly and parking requirements plus renovation. To our surprise there were three blocks in North Hollywood which were offered in a fire sale, an offer had to be made in less than 5 days, this typically takes months to prepare. Through chanting and diligent action, we were able to purchase the lot and the building in record time.
